The currencies
- Gold: pays for almost everything, from ammunition, weapons, parts and hulls to repairs and the Workshop. It comes from the chests enemies leave behind, quests and expeditions.
- Diamonds: the rare currency. They go on the strongest hulls, parts and weapons, crucible ammunition and finishing jobs instantly.
- Seals: one per level, spent in the skill tree.
- Skulls: you only get them by sinking other captains, and you spend them in the Skull shop. More in the PvP guide.
- Event currencies: one per theme, and you only earn them by playing the event. More in the events guide.
When a price takes both currencies, 1 diamond is worth 2,000 gold. Every diamond purchase asks for confirmation.
Gold by level band
Gold grows with the sea you hunt in. Each sea pays more than the one before, and the chests keep pace with the enemies' level. The table below is the game's own estimate for someone hunting in the best zone for their level, with ammunition and repairs already taken off. Your own pace may differ:
- Level 1
- ~4,700 per hour
- Level 10
- ~30,800 per hour
- Level 20
- ~43,100 per hour
- Level 30
- ~77,000 per hour
- Level 40
- ~130,100 per hour
- Level 50
- ~206,900 per hour
In the early seas, rewards are capped by the sea's level, so hunting far below your level pays very little. From the middle of the world onward there's no cap, and the farther you go, the more you earn.
Where diamonds come from
- Enemy chests: every ordinary enemy has a small chance to drop a diamond, and bosses drop more. Chest diamonds are capped at 50 a day, and after the first 30 the chance goes down.
- Treasure maps: the final chests can hold diamonds, and on the hardest maps they always do.
- The daily prize, achievements, event milestones and the welcome-back gift also pay diamonds.
In port you'll find a diamond-to-gold exchange (1 for 500, 10 for 5,500 and 50 for 30,000). It doesn't work the other way, and gold never turns into diamonds.
The auctions
In the auctions, the game is the seller, and you can take part from level 10. There's just one button, Dar lance (bid). The first bid pays the starting price, and every bid after that goes up a fixed step. Each bid charges a non-refundable fee on the spot and extends the clock (1 h, 30 min, 15 min and 30 s, shorter each time as the bidding heats up), up to 3 h past closing time.
The winner gets the right to buy at the final price from the Depósito (depot), within 3 days. Win and don't pay, and you can't bid for 7 days.
- Casa de leilões: in gold, every day, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Brasília time, with a 2,000 gold fee per bid. The lots change depending on the day of the week.
- Leilão da Lua: in diamonds, only on the actual full moon, with a 2-diamond fee per bid. It carries the Blood Moon ship, cannon and parts, and while it's open that's the only place to get them. Moon bid tokens, sold in the event shop, cover the fee instead of diamonds.
- Thursday: Lançador Moreia, 40 × Pau-ferro, 3 × Beberagem do lobo
- Friday: 30 × Baú do mestre carpinteiro, 15 × Pólvora de grão fino, 5 × Bala de agonia
- Saturday: Canhão Borrasca, Lançador Cardume, 5 × Clamor do abismo, 3 × Sopro de escama
Tip: Only jump into the bidding if you have the funds, since a bid needs the fee plus the new price. And the fee is gone even if someone outbids you.
The daily hunt
Every day the Tavern draws 3 "sink this many enemies in this sea" tasks, in seas you've already opened, from 1 level below yours to 3 above. Any enemy sunk in that sea counts, whether it's a ship, monster, boss or event enemy. Each task pays a chest of gold and materials at the sea's level, which you collect in port.
The daily prize
It's a 7-square calendar. Each day you collect moves you forward one square, and missing a day doesn't send you back to the start. You collect in port, and the day turns over at midnight Brasília time.
- Day 1
- 5,000 gold
- Day 2
- 3 × Turma de reparo
- Day 3
- 300 × Bala forjada + 300 × Arpão de ponta dupla
- Day 4
- 2 × Cristal de maré + 1 × Diário em dobro
- Day 5
- 10,000 gold
- Day 6
- 1 bronze key
- Day 7
- 10 diamonds + 1 × Fogos pequenos
The season pass
Every event has its own pass, with 40 levels, from captain level 5. Pass points come from the 3 daily challenges, the 3 weekly ones and the event milestones, and every 150 points take you up a level. The pass runs alongside the event, and the break after it is for collecting whatever you missed.
- Trilha do Marujo (Sailor's Track): free, for every captain. Ammunition, items, materials, gold and a few diamonds along the way.
- Trilha do Capitão (Captain's Track): bought through Google Play, it covers the whole pass and also unlocks the levels you have already passed. It has a reward on every level, always better than the free track on the same level: theme frames and avatars, a Legendary paint for your ship, diamonds, Workshop materials, ammunition and battle items.
Neither track gives weapons or ship parts. Pass diamonds, counting both tracks, are capped at 60 per edition.
The welcome-back gift
If you stay away for 7 days or more, a pack is waiting for you in port when you come back: 20,000 gold, 1 silver key, 5 × Turma de reparo, 2 × Diário em dobro and 20 diamonds. It works once every 30 days.
